It is the site where the Castle for Sho-Shisho and Sho-Hashi, who unified the three Kingdoms, used to be located. During the process of unifying the three Kingdoms, Sho-Hashi invaded and took over Ozato Gusuku, where he moved in from Sashiki Gusuku. When he took over Chuzan Gusuku, entire stones of the Sashiki-Ui-Gusuku were said to be relocated over to Shuri Castle. The castle stone wall, which is usually seen at other Gusukus on Okinawa has not been founded at this site yet. After passing through Torii Gate toward the mountain, this sacred site is located at the area with a great view overlooking Kudaka Island. In the celebration of the 500th anniversary of Sho-Hashi, a Tsukishiro Shrine was constructed to enshrine Samegawa Ufunushi, Sho-Shisho, Sho-Hashi, Sho-Chu, Sho-Shitatsu, Sho-Kinfuku, Sho-Taikyu, and Sho-Toku. The name of the Shrine comes from the guardian god of the First Sho Dynasty, “Tsukishiro.” Since the castle was built at the tip of plateau, it is also known as “Ui-Gusuku.
