It is the legendary spot where Amamikiyo was the first to place her foot on the main island of Okinawa. A stone monument placed on the site can be seen in full at low tide while it is entirely swallowed by sea water at high tide.

It is the Haisho at Hamagawabaru in Hyakuna. Amamikiyo (God of the Creation of the Ryukyu) set foot on Kudaka Island from Nirai Kanai (Utopia where Gods live far out in the seas), then, descended first on the main island of Okinawa is the Yaharazuka. Yaharazukasa is a stone monument made by Ryukyu limestone and an incense burner is placed at the monument. The stone monument can be seen in full at low tide while it is entirely swallowed by sea water at high tide. Therefore, you can have access to the site to offer a prayer only at low tide. The legend says that after it descended at the Yaharazukasa, Amamikiyo walked through Hamagawa Utaki, Minton Gusuku, Tamagusuku Gusuku, and Chinen Gusuku. The stone monument stands on the beach with clean sand and gentle wave. The holy island, “Kudaka Island”, can also be seen at the east side of the stone.
